Job Summary:
Coordinate and manage development activities of our Digital Aftermarket Analytics Team within Cat Digital. Of foremost importance is coordination and communication with existing and prospective stakeholders for analytics products and capabilities as well as stakeholders supporting analytics activities.
The role also involves managing organizational events including meetings, review sessions, and technical deep dives; curating and driving the development of standards, documentation, scorecards, and other shared resources; defining and driving organizational processes; ensuring effective communication, coordination, and integration between members of the Digital Aftermarket Analytics Team to maximize impact from analytics insights to Caterpillar’s digital products.
What You Will Do:
Managing the day-to-day activities of projects, including overseeing project responsibilities and schedules. Developing contingency plans for potential risks.
Directing and motivating project team.
Evaluating and managing deliverables to ensure that service expectations are achievable, developed, and met.
Monitoring project results for significant deviations. Ensuring adherence to quality standards and processes.
Estimated Job statistics: 6-10 projects, 4 teams, >20 enterprise partners
What You Will Have:
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Extensive knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Data Gathering and Reporting: Extensive knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.
Project Control and Reporting: Working knowledge of project control and reporting; ability to monitor the vital signs of an IT project while managing its progress and delivery schedule.
Project Management: Extensive knowledge of project management; ability to plan, organize, monitor and control IT projects using appropriate technical resources.
Considerations for Top Candidates:
Typically, a College or University degree in Applied Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.), Physics, Mathematics, MBA with Technical Undergrad, Predictive Analytics, Statistics, or equivalent technical degree.
Extensive professional experience utilizing quantitative analysis (typically 8+ years)
Proven experience with Project Management concepts including Project Charters, Scheduling and Planning Projects and successful completion (typically 2+ years)
Should have strong project management skills, team leadership skills, excellent communication skills, ability to multitask effectively, strong analytical and organizational skills
Previous Agile training (sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint retrospectives)
Experience working with software engineering or analytics teams in an agile environment
Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on making priority decisions.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred
Working knowledge of JIRA or Azure DevOps, Confluence
Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or influence others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
Strong communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with heavy equipment systems (ex. automotive, aerospace, engine, transmission, construction, mining, industrial, etc)
Strong technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field
Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc)
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification desirable
A desire to work with and understand new technologies
Significant Caterpillar business knowledge and network

Additional Information:
This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL offices with a flexible hybrid office environment.

Summary Pay Range:
$123,480.00 - $185,280.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
