C.H. Robinson General Manager, Customer Success in Chicago, Illinois

C.H. Robinson is currently hiring a General Manager for our Customer Success team within North American Surface Transportation (NAST). In this role, you will lead a dynamic team of both people leaders and individual contributors in a NAST office, overseeing a diverse customer portfolio. Collaborating with other functional leaders, you will set customer strategy, drive execution to generate demand, and create opportunities to highlight solutions across C.H. Robinson divisions. Your leadership will be crucial in achieving both business unit and enterprise goals through talent management and development. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drive priorities and business decisions with a customer-first mindset, ensuring exceptional service and performance

  • Innovate and improve by leveraging deep understanding of C.H. Robinson’s capabilities and industry trends

  • Lead and motivate teams to achieve business results, key performance metrics, and strategic objectives

  • Directly contribute to team performance, business growth, and long-term success through account sponsorship

  • Establish routines that prepare teams for productive customer engagements and enable growth

  • Utilize analytics and technology to drive improved business results and efficiency

  • Review and execute customer strategies to foster, retain, and grow relationships and accounts

  • Champion employee development through coaching, feedback, mentoring, and training

  • Foster a diverse and inclusive environment where all employees thrive

  • Embrace and lead change management initiatives, ensuring successful implementation and reinforcement

  • Oversee annual budgeting, expense management, and maximize cash flow with internal resources

  • Strategize and deploy resources for business opportunities and daily service delivery

  • Build and leverage internal relationships to ensure collaboration, quality, and issue resolution

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and workplace conduct standards, and manage audits and process changes as needed

  • Manage space, technology, and business continuity plans for multiple C.H. Robinson offices, as applicable

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 7 years logistics industry experience

  • Minimum 3 years of people management experience

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • Proven experience utilizing analytical tools to understand and manage business

Preferred:

  • Values and models a diverse and inclusive work environment

  • Strong knowledge of C.H. Robinson’s commercial-facing business

  • Broad market and industry knowledge, or vertical expertise (if applicable)

  • Experience leading leaders/supervisors and other staff across varying levels

  • Proven experience winning and retaining business with complex customers

  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization

  • Demonstrated experience consulting, effectively resolving conflict, and thriving in a fast-paced, decentralized, matrixed environment

  • Recognized ability to manage competing, high priority demands during times of organizational change

  • Strong customer strategy planning, problem solving/critical thinking skills, and ability to execute plan

  • Proven experience championing and implementing change initiatives

  • Demonstrated success generating revenue or business growth and driving results through others

  • Financial management experience and ability to communicate financial metrics

  • Effective and flexible communication skills, including proficiency presenting to both internal and external senior leadership level audiences

  • Demonstrated collaboration, influence, relationship building, and negotiation skills
