Key Responsibilities

The Field Maintenance Planning Manager reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Field Maintenance Planning. This position is responsible for leading the regional field planning teams who oversee all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance requirements while optimizing and balancing station resources within their assigned region. This opening is specifically for the Midwestern region and will be located at ORD in Chicago, IL. The Field Maintenance Planning Manager is both a creative and strategic individual who will harmonize and lead our collaborative culture. The ideal candidate will require the leadership skills necessary to make sound business decisions, identify and implement process improvement opportunities and mentor employees to perform at their highest level. This leadership position also requires effective communication skills ensuring all facets of aircraft workload are adequately coordinated with local aircraft maintenance teams. To be successful, the qualified candidate requires the utmost professionalism, integrity and work ethic while possessing a visionary skillset that will successfully carry the team into the future.

· Leads the regional field planning team in reviewing, scheduling, coordinating and effectively communicating aircraft maintenance activities. Lead daily workload meetings with station leadership

· Subject matter expert and designated station trainer on related technology platforms

· This role requires a technology-based mindset able to work with Digital Technology to test and implement new software platforms for the planning teams

· Develops and fosters strong cross-divisional relationships while maintaining an open line of communication with the various planning teams, maintenance stations, maintenance control, routing and other Tech Ops and NOC teams

· Manage administrative duties of the assigned field planning team including team scheduling, vacation, holiday, and sick outages

· Mentor, develop and train field planning team. Monitor goal performance and implement actions to address gaps. Ensures team compliance with planning SOPs

· Coordinates pilot projects involving labor-hour and ground time estimates on new and existing line maintenance tasks to aid in workability. Manages station capabilities and qualification data

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 4 years of commercial aircraft or military aircraft maintenance experience

· FAA Airframe and Powerplant License or equivalent technical education or experience

· Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems

· Autonomous proactive self-starter

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· 40% travel, domestic and international

· Ability to use digital technology tools such as MS Office, Teams, etc.

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

· Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

· Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aviation technology or aviation management

· 2 years in an aircraft maintenance leadership role

· 2 years of aircraft maintenance planning experience

· Green or Black Belt in Lean/Six Sigma

· Project Management certification

· Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
