Position Overview

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for the remote monitoring, operation, and analysis of Invenergy’s fleet of wind, solar, and battery storage facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Remotely monitor and reset wind turbines, solar inverters, and other plant equipment

  • Manage balance of plant controls: power/curtailments, voltage, reactive power, other controls

  • Communicate and coordinate with site technicians, customers, and third-party customers

  • Analyze data and trends, troubleshoot and diagnose issues or escalate to appropriate personnel

  • Monitor weather at sites for safety of on-site technicians and personnel

  • Work independently or collaboratively on projects and initiatives that enhance the operations and reliability of the control center

  • Ability to achieve PJM Generator Operator Certification within 6 months

  • Position will be on a rotating shift that will require the person to work nights, weekends, and some holidays

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a course of study that demonstrates strong analytical and technical skills

  • Or 2 years of relevant experience

  • Or military service experience in positions that require communication and analytical and decision-making skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SCADA systems, preferably focused on wind or solar operations

  • Experience with data monitoring software such as PI

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Problem solving and critical thinking

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
