This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC (Title 32), Position Description Number D1636000 and is part of the WY 153rd Maintenance Squadron, National Guard.

Responsibilities

This position is located in an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Propulsion Element, (Jet Engine Intermediated Maintenance (JEIM) and the Hush House). The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, remove, repair, install, certify, test and perform operational checks on the turboprop engines, propellers, and associated propulsion system components.

(1) Removes, installs, certifies, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and installs turboprop engines, reduction gear boxes, turbine modules, compressor modules, auxiliary power units, propellers and related propeller components as required. (2) Modifies engines, propellers, auxiliary power units, and components in accordance with Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) directives; removes and installs engine quick change kits; prepares engines for installation and installs engine and propeller assemblies on aircraft. (3) Performs operational checks of installed propellers, engines, auxiliary power units and sub-systems during aircraft maintenance ground runs in accordance with approved checklists. (4) Performs isochronal and special evaluations on engines, propellers and auxiliary power units. (5) Performs aircraft full power runs and complete engine and propeller efficiency checks.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). The Selected applicant must complete an "I-9, Employment Verification", OF-306, Declaration of Federal Employment" and a "Declaration of Relatives in the Wyoming Military Department" prior to the appointment date. Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives. Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS). Relocation expenses will not be paid by the Government unless noted in the Announcement. Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician. Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f). Indefinite employees may be terminated or displaced at management's discretion with a 30-day written notice.

MILITARY GRADE Min: E1/AMN Max: E5/SSgt

Enlisted applicant's military grade cannot exceed the maximum military grade authorized. Over-grade applicants must provide a written demotion statement of understanding with application, willingness to be administratively reduced in grade (E5/SSgt) if selected for this position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-08: Must possess at least 12 months experience or training removing and installing components and accessories with detailed guidance. Experience in following detailed instructions in making minor repairs and modifications to aircraft engines, subassemblies and components.

WG-10: Must possess at least 18 months experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.

NOTE:Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g. 02/2014 - 03/2016 or Feb 2014 - Mar 2016) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Enlisted: 2A6X1

Must possess or be eligible to retrain into AFSC 2A6X1, Aerospace Propulsion.

Enlisted 2A6X1 ASVAB Requirements: Must possess a minimum score of "56" on the Mechanicalportion of the ASVAB. Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than 333132. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. unassisted.

DRIVER'S LICENSE: Must possess a valid state's driver's license.
