COOK - 2 Positions

*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * * *Must obtain and maintain State Health Certification.  Must receive such immunizations as are required to work in the food service industry.  Lifting is required on a daily basis, must be able to lift forty (40) pounds using proper lifting techniques and safe lifting practices.  Ability to read and accurately expand recipes is required.  Personal cleanliness and hygiene must meet the highest standards.  General knowledge of cooking and baking is required.

JOB GOAL: Assists in the preparation and serving of food.  Cleans assigned kitchen facility, equipment, storage areas and serving materials.  Completes other duties as assigned by the Head Cook.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
2. Assume responsibility for replenishing the supply of food during meal service periods.
3. Assist in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas.
4. Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designed by the head cook.
5. Transport, unload and prepare food for serving, as necessary.
6. Supervise student servers.
7. Meet all state and federal health standards in
   1. Food preparation/serving.
   2. Personal and server hygiene.
   3. Cleanliness of physical facilities.
      • Floors mopped daily.
      • Counters cleaned daily.
      • Shelves cleaned weekly.
      • Shelves and drawers organized.
      • Sweep walk-in cooler weekly.
      • Cleanliness of utensils, trays, glassware, etc.

``` 8. Provide a sufficient amount of food and dispense portions appropriate to the age level of the students. 9. Responsible for security of all doors, food service compartments, windows and storage. 10. Serve all meals on clean, dry trays. 11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Cook, Principal or Food Service Director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Up to 8 hours per school day.

*WAGE RANGE: * $16.33 -- $24.09 hourly wage according to the CEA Salary Schedule wage schedule depending upon experience.  This is a CPEA position.

GENERAL BENEFITS: Employees anticipated to work at least 630 hours per school year (September 1 -- August 31) and their families are eligible to be covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, and long-term disability insurance through the School Employees Benefit Board (SEBB). Employees participate in a Washington State retirement plan and may choose to enroll in the District's 403b and deferred compensation plans. 180 day per year employees receive ten (10) paid sick days based on their hours worked per day. Up to 50% of the sick days are designated for emergency, personal and certain bereavement. Other paid leaves available to those who qualify include bereavement, military, and jury duty or subpoena. Benefits may be prorated depending upon employment start date.
