The JBG Companies Corporate Office Billing Specialist - Residential & Retail in Chevy Chase, Maryland

The Residential & Retail Billing Specialist is responsible for working with senior leadership in the Residential and Retail groups to oversee the invoice payment process. This includes active involvement in all aspects of managing the workflow from receiving and coding invoices to researching and resolving billing issues.

  • Acts as a single point of contact for residential and retail department invoice submissions.

  • Processes and codes invoices to properties with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Researches billing questions for the residential and retail department.

  • Follows up on potential billing errors from vendors to ensure correct billing and payment.

  • Answers inquiries via phone, fax and email.

  • Performs various other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of bookkeeping, billing or accounting experience, some commercial real estate or property management experience preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other spreadsheet applications, as well as experience in real estate accounting software (Yardi, MRI, CTI).

  • Conscientious and self-directed with the ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with a variety of teams.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and must demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude.
