The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for trouble-shooting, service, repair and maintenance of Flygt submersible pumps , accessories and related electrical control panel/systems, in a safe and efficient manner in a Xylem Service Center, customer job site or via phone. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Service & Troubleshoot Flygt submersible pumps and related electrical control panel/systems.

  • Repair/rebuild/advise onsite customer as necessary and follow up and/or return equipment to our Xylem facility for further evaluation/repair as necessary.

  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and service various products

  • Diagnose and report any wear/damage to the customer.

  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on our field service vehicle & equipment

  • Perform start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved and or addressed/reported.

  • Train new service or other shop personnel and customers, as needed, in service and/or other related standard work.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours.

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electric controls, related industrial equipment

  • Experience with variable frequency drives and PLC controls preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form at multiple levels

  • Ability to calculate general math, standard and metric measurements

  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical wiring schematics and mechanical drawings

  • Thorough understanding of single phase and three phase electrical systems as well as DC systems

  • Knowledge of AC/DC component location and identification

  • Knowledge of AC/DC electric and circuit testing skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot control panels for single phase and three phase controls

  • Forklift certification preferred

  • Service and repair knowledge of electrical equipment

  • Experience with electrical submersible equipment a plus

  • Able to obtain a DOT Medical Card

SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $28/hr. - $34/hr. plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
