Amergis Direct Support Professional in Chestertown, Maryland
40hrs - Full-Time
24hrs - Part-Time
Pay Rate: $18-20/hr (depending on full time or part time)
Hours worked over 40 will be paid out at a time & a half ($20 x 1.5 = $30hr)

The Direct Support Professional provides support to people in completing their day-to-day personal needs, cooking healthy meals, accessing medical care, employment support, and social activities. DSPs assist individuals in developing key life skills by providing supports based upon their person-centered plan in meaningful day and community living programs. These positions are a critical to the people we support and could entail day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.
Essential Responsibilities:
Supporting a person’s unique capacities, personality and potential
Promoting advocacy with the person/people supported
Facilitating personal growth and development
Facilitation of supports and services, supporting safety, health and wellness
Building and maintaining relationships, including professional relationships
Creating meaningful communication
Transporting people being supported to appointments and outings
Performs record notation and other required documentation
Adheres to and promotes the mission, culture and practices of the organization
Other duties as assigned.
