WestRock Company Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician in Chesterfield, Missouri

Summary:

The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician will have complete involvement in routine or emergency maintenance as well as corrective, preventive, predictive maintenance and care for all electrical and mechanical equipment and their related controls. In this role you will maintain, test and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Possessing welding and machining skills is a plus. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing for the unionized plant. Position will be on an off shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment on a scheduled basis; Inspects belts, gearboxes, chains, bearings, etc.

  • Troubleshooting of low voltage circuits, analog devices, VFDs, and motor control circuitry to obtain a root cause of failures.

  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and devices to determine faults and failures.

  • Regular repair and maintenance are required in non-production areas including the warehouse, design lab, building, and grounds.

  • Uses CMMS system for work order implementation, recordkeeping of daily activities, and planned projects.

  • Functional an operational knowledge, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage circuits, analog devices, VFDs, and motor control circuitry to obtain a root cause of failures.

  • Functional and operational knowledge, troubleshooting, repair, and maintaining of line voltage(120, 240, 277, and 480) equipment, including switches, power supplies, motors, drives and associated controls.

  • Drive and PLC troubleshooting, problem solving and installation.

  • Experience with RS Logix, RS5000 and other drive interfaces software is a plus.

Requirements:

  • 2 - 5 years of Electro-Mechanical troubleshooting experience with focus on electrical/electronic preferred.

  • An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes drives, PLC\u2019s, VFD\u2019s servos, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls and power transmission systems. Also, will require familiarity with motors, pumps, gear boxes, chains etc.

  • A strong electrical aptitude for drive and PLC trouble shooting.

  • Strong problem-solving ability of mechanical and electrical systems.

  • A good understanding of heavy rotating equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Must be computer literate with Microsoft environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a mature and respectful professional manner.

  • Ability to work various shifts / overtime / days per week.
