Responsibilities You will perform regularly scheduled equipment checks and operate the industrial wastewater collection pump stations aboard MCAS Cherry Point. You will maintain a record of all plant operations, collect data, and develop reports for submission to various authorities. You will perform testing that determines things such as sedimentary characteristics and flow rates, adjust for pH, and add proper amounts of chemicals to precipitate heavy metals. You will operate a jet mixing system to provide adequate mixing of the plant flow and to prevent accumulation of sludge in the equalization basins. You will perform preventive maintenance on the industrial drives, pumps, motors, control and instrumentation. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision: Ability to perform the difficult and complex Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator tasks including sludge handling, grit removal, sampling and chemical feed pumps.
