Ballard Spahr is a well-established national law firm with 15 offices across the country. We are currently offering an opportunity in our Intellectual Property Trademark practice. The ideal candidate should possess a mastery of technical and administrative skills. They should be able to consistently progress towards assuming responsibility with minimal supervision and exercise initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of their assigned authority. In addition, they should champion and practice collaboration with all employees.
We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate who can manage the docketing database for all US and foreign trademarks. The responsibilities include entering actions and due dates from incoming correspondence, and sorting, opening, and distributing incoming mail. The candidate should also docket outgoing domestic and foreign trademark correspondence appropriately by following guides and instructions. Additionally, the Docketing Clerk will be responsible for preparing docket reports and assisting with other projects under the supervision of the IP Docketing Manager. This position is hybrid, with two days onsite.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook required. Knowledge of docketing software is preferred. Prior experience with Anaqua is a plus.
The ideal candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. They must be able to prioritize tasks, handle multiple demands, and meet deadlines. Attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members are also required.
Required Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, college or business school certificate is preferred
Previous Trademark experience working in a law firm or legal environment is s plus
Ability to work beyond the standard scheduled hours, as needed.
