Amazon Risk Manager II, BRM in Chennai, TennesseeIndia

Description

As a Risk Manager II, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategy and vision for our team. Your primary focus will be on developing comprehensive partner experience roadmaps and features that align with our strategic objectives. This position requires a moderate understanding of SQL, including the ability to write and optimize queries. In this role, you will operate as an individual contributor with significant project management responsibilities, requiring minimal technical oversight. You will lead and execute projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes. Your role will be inherently cross-functional, involving close collaboration with Engineering, Design, Operations, WFM, and Executive teams to deliver robust features and solutions. The position is based out of Chennai, India, with shift timings from 2 PM to 11 PM.

Key job responsibilities

•Independently manage and lead projects, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

•Leverage SQL skills to write queries for effective data analysis.

•Define user needs, identify gaps, and propose feature enhancements and opportunities for improvement.

•Develop creative, high-quality, and straightforward program roadmaps that align with the team's strategy and vision.

•Create detailed, clear business requirements and user stories to guide product specifications and architecture for each product and application.

•Balance and make trade-offs among customer experience, performance, and operational support to achieve optimal outcomes.

•Create buy-in for the team vision both internally and with key external partners and stakeholders.

•Collaborate closely with engineering teams and program management to ensure the successful delivery of solutions to production.

•Drive product launches in collaboration with tech teams, operations, data scientists, machine learning scientists, executives, and product management.

•Proactively identify and resolve tactical issues that may hinder the team’s ability to meet strategic and financial goals.

•Act as the primary contact for COEs, handle escalations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

A day in the life

The Amazon Books Risk Management (BRM) teams ensure that all books listed on Amazon’s websites satisfy legal requirements and do not violate internal policies. The Automation team creates processes to proactively identify non-compliant books for the purposes of blocking, re-categorizing, or otherwise restricting books. The consequences of inaccurate identification include exposure of inappropriate and/or harmful content to customers, loss of trust from legitimate publishers, damage to the Amazon brand, and/or legal ramifications for Amazon. BRM Automation primarily owns and creates rules in RBMS (Rules Based Matching System) platform. The team currently has 10 team members (Program Managers, Support Engineers).

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with research and investigation skills or equivalent

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience with SQL and Excel
