About the Role

This role is responsible for designing solutions for data products in the AWS cloud. The solutions architect will work closely with the product and engineering teams to ensure their solution is appropriate and effective, and must be able to communicate that vision clearly so its capabilities and the reasoning for its design can be understood. They must be able to collaborate well and facilitate open discussions on design choices and approach to achieve the best outcomes.

Required Skills

  • 10-15 years of experience that includes 3-4 years of solution architect experience

  • 3+ years of experience on application development and deployment using various services in AWS

  • Study existing technology landscape and understand current application workloads

  • Understand and document technical requirements

  • Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation.

  • Performing lead role in translating business objectives and requirements into functional solutions

  • Applying existing technologies in designing and developing technical solutions

  • Good decision-making skills, which gives him/her the ability to provide firm and clear perspectives that are secure, resilient, cost-efficient, and managed with operational excellence

  • Design the overall Virtual Private Cloud VPC environment including server instance, storage instances, subnets, availability zones, etc

  • Design the AWS network architecture including VPN connectivity between regions and subnets

  • Design the HA / DR strategies set up process, services and tools around cloud

  • Validate and adjust solution designs with security and compliance teams

  • Extensive experience in architecting, designing and programming applications in an AWS Cloud environment

  • Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive projects from an architecture standpoint

  • Hands-on working knowledge around standard AWS services, such as IAM, Cloud formation, EC2, S3, Lambda, VPCs, Load balancing, Networking and Monitoring the health of these services using tools/processes.

  • Awareness of programming concepts and experience in debugging of complicated systems in efficient way – a Must

  • Hands-on working knowledge on deploying AWS Cloud Formation scripts, SSL Certificates- Cloud Security in AWS, specifically IAM Roles & Polices, Security Groups and Encryption keys.

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Cluster Management. Hands-on is a plus.

  • Proven experience assessing clients workloads and technology landscape for Cloud suitability, develop business case and Cloud adoption roadmap

  • Experience to build scalable production systems (load balancers, mem-cached, Master/slave architectures)

  • Experience in developing and running event driven microservices along with Cloud (AWS)

  • Deployment of the micro-services applications on Kubernetes on AWS

  • Experience of working databases – Postgres, MySQL, any NoSQL – a Must

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Certification on AWS architecture is desirable
