Job Description Summary:

Rocket’s Data Modernization Business Unit helps customers manage, govern and realize the value of their enterprise data assets. Our client roster is a who’s who of the Fortune 500 including the world's biggest banks, insurance companies and manufacturing organizations. Rocket’s Data Intelligence platform has a rich heritage of innovation, leadership, and recognized as an innovator in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Intelligence. We are embarking on an ambitious expansion and modernization of this strategic platform, with a goal of bringing it to new users and enabling new use cases. As a Software Engineer-II you will have a pivotal role in enabling and shaping this transformation.

The Full stack Software Engineer-II designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software primarily using Java, REST API, Typescript and Angular.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Understands end user requirements

• Writes commercial/enterprise grade software

• Provides input on designs for software enhancements and new products

• Demonstrates ability to identify presence of code problems and bring to attention to senior engineers for resolution

• Documents and communicates on technical topics without direction

• Seeks to shadow other Engineers; working to debug customer issues

• Works under limited direction of a manager and/or team lead to implement software enhancements, correct defects and/or create new products

• Understands hardware and software systems

• Self-directed in learning of the application subject matter

• Shows proficiency at programming within a team

• Team oriented, collaborative, accountable, anddependable

• Respondsto learning suggestionsand feedbackpositively

• Open to coaching

• Learn about mainframe and our modernization strategy

• Learn about foundation of the markets Rocket serves

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 - 5 years of software engineering experience

• Proven track record of software development in the real world

• Proficient in Java, REST API, Angular, Spring Boot, Data Structures and, Algorithms.

• Operating systems: required Windows/Unix, optional z/OS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information technology or related field

Travel Requirements:

<5% minimal travel
