Physical Access Control Solutions (PACS)

HID's Physical Access Control Solutions Business Area:

HID PAC’s Business Unit focuses on the growth of new clients and existing clients where we leverage the latest card and reader technologies to solve the security challenges of our clients. Other areas of focus will include authentication, card sub systems, card encoding, Biometrics, location services and all other aspects of a physical access control infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Building new Cloud Applications. Enhancing and supporting existing cloud-based products; designing and implementing new features; assessing and paying down technical debt

  • Developing pure cloud, and-or hybrid cloud solutions

  • Write test-driven, maintainable code and follow industry standards and web development best practices.

  • Implement new features and maintain existing features of production pipeline.

  • Work with Application / System Architects, Engineering managers, Product Owners and other engineers to assure accurate timelines and deliverables.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a small group of highly skilled and motivated engineers. Performing peer code reviews and delivering feedback

  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to find elegant, long-term solutions as well as creative quick fixes to problems.

  • Following best practices and methodologies to produce desired software on time with top notch quality.

  • Develop and maintain micro services deployed to Amazon AWS cloud with Docker.

  • Be comfortable working with source control branching strategies

    Technical Requirements:

  • Experience in building a high-performance UI application in AWS Cloud platform

  • Sound knowledge in UI Design Principles / Architectural Solutions

  • Experience in developing Cloud platform-based application.

  • Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular.js, Angular, React.js, Bootstrap, CSS in JS, RxJS

  • Experience in MERN & MEAN Stack

  • Hands on experience with JavaScript Development on both client and server-side

  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures and RESTful Web Service best practices

  • Must be comfortable working on the Unix/Linux shell command line.

  • Demonstrate the ability to reduce complex ideas and problems into clear concepts and solutions.

  • Repo hosting services such as Bit bucket, GitHub

  • Testing apps such as Mocha, chai, Jasmine

  • Sound knowledge in Web Security

  • Must have experience developing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications

  • Possess a passion for new technology and innovation.

  • Experience in Agile ways of working

    Education And/or Experience: -

  • An undergraduate degree from a recognized university in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, Desired master’s degree in computer science or Equivalent

  • Minimum requirement of 10+ years of experience in software development with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in Product development environment.

  • Deep analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Broad exposure / experience across Mobile APP development, SOA, Contemporary Web channel solutions, large scale distributed systems design and implementation

  • Demonstrated experience in Design and code for Secure, Scale, Speed, and reliability.

  • A desire for learning and understanding the security discipline
