About you and this role

The Smart Reference Data (SRD) Business Process Expertise manager is aligned to the Operations IT/OT Equipment Digital Thread - Engineer and Build Team. The role serves as an Operations IT/OT global subject matter expert providing first- and second-level management, support, and oversight of a defined set of global processes, procedures, and I/T applications, tools and systems aligned with SRD/SDB technology disciplines and/or business process area.

The role leads technical and work process support and oversight at a corporate level to enable adoption and use of corporate, best-in-class processes and applications by end users across all businesses and at all sites.

Requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, along with specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to lead a broad range of complex deliverables. Leads and executes tasks and activities aligned to the high-level Operations IT/OT strategy along with technology discipline and/or business process multi-generation plans to support optimal capability of processes, procedures, and related IT solutions.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Engage and collaborate with key Engineering leaders and stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of Operations ITOT systems, processes, and tools to enhance and improve the overall end-user experience.

  • Work closely with business process teams, technical teams, superusers, and other stakeholders to provide consulting experience, design and build solutions for integrated material catalogs which meet Business requirements.

  • Manage relationships and coordinate activities with vendors and product owners to keep the team organized and resolve issues. Lead a group of global specialists by providing direct daily work management, support, and oversight work prioritization for improvement opportunities

  • Design and manage tool strategy, implementing multi-generational plans and align with partners. Manage the data quality in the applicable databases and applications, driving updates and process or system changes when needed to improve the quality. Partner with other cross functional teams for data standards and governance.

  • Ensure that functional and technical designs and programs meet business requirements, conform to Dow architecture standards, and optimize productivity and long-term product/system vision within your area of focus

  • Monitors functional, business, and site-level performance measures related to system functionality, work process and application life cycle management and leads strategic gap closure activities and other opportunities for improvement. Proactively identifies potential risks and possible for mitigation.

  • Sets and executes the strategy for targeted improvement initiatives related to SRD/SDB catalogs including training, document updates, metric updates, and other change management activities. Looks for strong cross functional integration opportunities. Ensures effective stakeholder management and change communications are provided to key stakeholders and sponsors for all initiatives within the area(s) of scope.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering from an accredited university/college/technical institute.

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in engineering tools and in particular SRD and S3D.

  • Possess a detailed understanding of Smart Reference data and Smart 3D architecture.

  • Good understand of Engineering tool automation modifying and implementing comprehensive work processes.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated problem management and issue resolution skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Capital Project Execution is preferred

  • Knowledge of engineering hardware disciplines (Electrical, piping, instrumentation, etc.)

  • Knowledge of SRD back-end and expertise in SQL queries and oracle form customization.

  • Smart Material and SAP connectivity skills
