Manager - Accounts Payable

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing end to end Accounts Payable operations (invoices processing, expense reports audit & process and payment processing) for all KBR global countries from APAC, Europe and North America, and ensuring the team is following the company policies, procedures and controls as applicable.

  • Expected to lead a team; overall team size 25+ members (including 4 - 5 Direct Reports); guide, coach and develop them. Ensure delivery of results through the team

  • Continue to assess current structure and suggest efficient enhancements to the organization and manage implementation.

  • Responsible for initiating new system procedures and implementing resultant required changes in the system including testing and eventual sign-offs for the production environment.

  • High stakeholder engagement at Senior levels in a global environment

  • Managing the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team leads and members. Participates in the development of functional strategy and is responsible for updating global processes and procedures.

  • Responsible for proper budgeting, periodic forecasting and variance analysis for departmental costs.

  • Responsible for strong internal control procedures for all functions within the department and liaising with both internal and external auditors.

  • Monitoring performance of the team and participating in performance appraisals, confirmation, ongoing feedback, coaching and training.

  • Maintaining a positive, unbiased, and healthy working atmosphere within team by balancing out the work pressures of other individuals.

Qualifications – Skill Requirements – Experience Levels (Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters in Commerce with 15+ years professional experience with at least 5 years as an accounting/payable manager. Qualified Accountants are preferred.

  • Very good knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Strong accounting knowledge - provide full spectrum of accounting support including handling of full set of accounts; monthly closing of books, accounts reconciliations; management financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, anti-corruption, and SOX compliance. Good working knowledge of global online banking platforms and procedures.

  • Very good knowledge of global invoice and expense report processing procedures. Knowledge on preparation of 1099 / 1042 tax reporting and dealing with IRS B-Notices. Maintain up to date accounts payable procedures. Ensure timely updates for any change.

  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems; SAP, MS Dynamics, and Costpoint

  • Should be flexible regarding working days and working timings (shift timings and working days based on business requirement)

  • Should be flexible regarding work from home vs work from office to be determined based on business requirements
