Position Description

The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for managing and optimizing our database systems, with a special emphasis on migrating data to the cloud and support the existing database system. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to ensure high performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure high performance, availability, and security.

  • Conduct data analysis to support business decisions and optimize database performance.

  • Develop, implement, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

  • Manage the migration of data from Vertica/PostgreSQL to DynamoDB.

  • Utilize AWS services for database management and operations.

  • Work extensively with DynamoDB for database management and optimization.

  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including index tuning and query optimization.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure database changes align with best practices.

  • Ensure database security and compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Provide support for database-related issues and troubleshoot as needed.

  • HVAC domain knowledge is an additional advantage, providing insights for domain-specific database requirements and optimizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent required.

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Data Analyst, or similar role.

Technical Skills:

  • 6-10 years of experience in Database Administrator, Data Analyst, or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of writing and optimizing SQL queries.

  • experience with database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, Vertica or PostgreSQL.

  • Experience in maintaining high-performance database.

  • Basic understanding of AWS services such as RDS, S3, EC2, and Lambda.

  • Hands-on experience with DynamoDB.

  • Experience in migrating data from Vertica or PostgreSQL to DynamoDB.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
