Job Description:

Team/Function Overview:

  • Citi technology is seeking a highly motivated IT professional to lead our GCASH (Global Cash Securities) Production Services support group in Chennai, India

  • The GCASH team is responsible for the production environment of a wide range of applications in the back office domain specializing in clearance and settlement activities and providing application support to our Operations, Reconciliation and Asset Servicing businesses

Role/Position Overview:

  • We are searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who will lead the Chennai, India front line support functions for Settlement and Clearance activities. We work in partnership with the business running the application production platform, providing quick resolutions to their issues, drive stability, efficiency and effectiveness improvements to help us and the business succeed

  • The role will entail people management, working closely with senior business partners, developing application knowledge, driving and tracking projects around stability and service improvement, incident resolution and follow-up activities and providing strategic technical solutions

  • You will develop detailed knowledge of Settlement and Clearance, Asset Servicing and Reconciliation & Control areas of business

  • You will be working closely with your counterparts in UK, US and Canada operating in a follow-the-sun global model, along with application developers and business analysts in the team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to handle Incidents, Problems and Changes at a global enterprise level

  • Calm and analytical when faced with Major Incidents on critical systems

  • Champion Stability Initiatives to enable application high availability for Business-As-Usual functionality which includes better monitoring, failover and resiliency

  • Performs controlled resolution of incidents and problems including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when appropriate, root cause analysis of all problems with follow-through to resolution

  • Communicate effectively with Operations and Technology partners on a regional or global basis

  • Working closely as a trusted partner for senior business heads

  • Focus on people development and deputize for the regional GCASH support manager

  • Performance Analysis/Troubleshooting

  • 10+ years’ experience in a support /development environment

  • Experience with support in financial/banking services firm and being responsible for ensuring high availability environment will be preferred

  • Ability to efficiently resolve outages in time critical scenarios

  • Understanding and experience of wide scale distributed environments

  • Experience with people management and handling a team


  • UNIX (AIX/Linux)

  • Databases – Oracle/Sybase/Microsoft SQL

  • Middleware (Tibco/EMS)

  • Monitoring (Geneos ITRS Framework/other monitoring tools)

  • Shell scripting

  • Knowledge of Management Methodologies

  • Strong organizational and team management skills; Able to work under stress and to tight deadlines and communicate clearly and concisely

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, great teammate

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team


  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
