As a Qualcomm Software Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, product demonstrations, design and development of customer specific requirements, commercialization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Job Function
We are looking for talented, motivated, and experienced Linux lead in Qualcomm Chengdu.
You will develop and upstream the Linux kernel drivers on Qualcomm platforms, tune the Linux kernel per customer needs, co-work with global teams to provide the high-quality software for customers to support the success of Qualcomm chipsets.
Responsibility:
Upstream certain Linux kernel drivers to open-source community.
Make the new kernel performance enhancement for smart phone product.
Find solution for product blocking issues.
Maintain and upgrade to new Linux baseline for certain products in long-term.
Lead future Chengdu Linux engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Linux kernel driver development and upstreaming, more than 5 years.
- People management experience in development team, more than 5 years.
- Fluent English and communication skills.
Excellent C/C++ programming ability.
Familiar with Linux kernel’s internal mechanisms such as scheduler/interrupt/timer.
Familiar with ARM architecture and assembly programming.
Familiar with Git, repo, and baseline upgrade.
Familiar with automation script like python is a plus.
Android experience is plus.
Education Requirements
BSCS/BSEE with 15+ years experiences or MSCS/MSEE with 12+ years’ experiences
