Job Summary:
Eastern Washington University is seeking a Director of Philanthropy. The philanthropy director will emphasize and lead Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ ) fundraising efforts for the university at large. This is a two year project position with potential conversion to a permanent position. In addition to a DEIJ focus, this position will be assigned to the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences [CAHSS ]. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Philanthropy, the Director of Philanthropy, CAHSS , works collaboratively with University leadership, program directors, faculty and key volunteers to:
• Develop and carry out the fundraising plan for the university's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice initiatives. This work will include identifying prospects and developing relationships with corporations, foundations and individuals to secure development partnerships and philanthropic support for emerging and established programs. An important factor for success depends on internal networking across units, departments and programs and the ability to see connections and negotiate collaboration with university stakeholders.
• In collaboration with the Dean, develop and carry out the annual fundraising plan for the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences. Priority is on discovering and qualifying individuals as major gift prospects to find new support for the college. Maintaining and elevating current major gift relationships with ind
