General Summary : The Food Service Worker – Café position is responsible for a variety of activities. Serving of customers, assembling and setting up in-house catering and vending, which includes, preparation, processing, presentation, and delivery of food for the organization.

Functions:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend and stoop, sort and pick up repetitively dishes and silverware. Must be able to work quickly with both hands. Must be able to read tray ticket while on Room Service Line. Performs a variety of food service support functions:

  • Delivers meals, supplies, and equipment to other departments of the hospital

  • Prepares the dish room for washing service ware

  • Assembles all items needed to run room service

  • Serves patient breakfast, lunch and dinner meals

  • Cleans work station after meals served

  • Retrieves patient meal carts, disassembles, washes dishes, and restocks

  • Completes shift end cleaning assignments, checks out with supervisor

Requirements:

Required Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure

Some prior food service experience is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

Must possess the ability to read and write, basic math skills are helpful
