Insight Global HSE Manager in Chehalis, Washington

Job Description

A Insight Global client is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our team. This role will support the Chehalis, Washington plant location using demonstrated collaboration and leadership skills while engaging the workforce to work safely This position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for leading HSE performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and best management practices. This position collaborates and partners with Plant Management to effectively coordinate and implement critical HSE processes to create an engaged and empowered culture that achieves continual process improvement. This position is expected to effectively respond to all HSE incidents and operational upsets. In addition to working closely with key plant staff members, this role will have a dotted line reporting to the Vice President of HSE.

What you will do: (other duties as assigned)

-Self-directed to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements governing environmental protection, occupational safety, and health standards by staying current and informed on federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

-Interfaces with regulatory agencies, plant staff, and the corporate HSE team as needed.

-Monitor environmental compliance and ensure timely internal and external reporting and data input into internal tracking systems. -Alert and advise the Plant Manager and Vice President of HSE when permit and/or compliance issues develop.

-Monitor occupational safety and health compliance and ensure timely internal and external reporting and data input into internal tracking systems. Alert and advise the Plant Manager and the Vice President of HSE when HSE issues develop.

-Respond and provide guidance and assistance for all emergencies.

-Support Operations on all incident investigations and lead the root cause analysis process to identify causal factors and actions to prevent recurrence.

-Directly support delivery of all HSE training for all levels of employees.

-Lead plant HSE Team efforts and continue to develop the HSE Team program.

-Provide technical assistance and plant support for all of their HSE programs as requested by the Plant Manager.

Skills and Requirements

-Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Health, Safety and Environment, Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety, or a related field. A combination of an associate degree and directly related HSE compliance experience may be considered. Other degree and/or experience combinations may also be considered.

-Ability to successfully manage and direct wastewater operations and operators including: 1) an onsite laboratory used to determine wastewater processing efficiencies 2) day to day maintenance of the treatment system and, detailed regulatory compliance recordkeeping and reporting.

-3+ years of overall experience -Professional certification is desirable but not required (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Safety & Health Manager, etc.)

-Dairy or food and beverage industry experience null
