Chautauqua Institution Patron Record Manager (Enterprise Data, Analytics, and Research)/Career Opportunity in Chautauqua, New York

Description

The Patron Record Manager will partner with teams across the organization to continuously improve data quality in the Salesforce customer relationship management database. Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Data, Analytics, and Research, this role requires a firm grasp of marketing and fundraising principles, data integrity, querying and audit logic, and patron record management best practices. The incumbent is responsible for managing and monitoring data integrity requests and projects to ensure they are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.

About the Work

  • Maintain patron record data quality by reviewing and completing user-requested and data sync process record updates for names, salutations, addresses, emails, phones, employment, relationships, preferences, constituencies, volunteer roles, attributes, deceased notifications, etc. 

  • Ensure seamless experiences for our high-value channels, preventing data errors and improving the accuracy and thoroughness of records

  • Audit and help map organizational hierarchy among organizational and individual patron records.

  • Deliver necessary data for direct mail initiatives across the organization

  • Manage NCOA and undeliverable mail processes for patron records 

  • Contributes to policies for standardization of formatting for key contact and demographic fields in partnership with Advancement and Marketing & Communications in line with ethical management of identity data, IDEA values, and an inclusive patron experience 

  • Conduct audit processes and maintain data integrity across the CRM database, working with the reporting team on the development of measures to ensure integrity and timeliness 

  • Maintain a Data Quality Issue Register and convene data specialists from across departments to address anomalies and best practices in data governance

About You

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Communications, or similar field or equivalent experience.

    Experience

  • Experience in customer relationship management software is required. Preference is given to those who have worked in a Salesforce environment, but other CRMs or donor management software can be substituted as appropriate.

  • Experience in database entry and/or data quality assurance

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 

  • Strong technology acumen, including advanced Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Proven experience in high-volume, mission-critical data processing 

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Ability to anticipate needs, see opportunities, and use good judgment in dealing with confidential information

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively 

  • Highly organized, self-starter with good interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills. 

  • Comfortable and thrives in a fast-paced environment with regularly changing priorities.

About Your Department

The Enterprise Data, Analytics & Research team is a newly formed department responsible for creating a 360-degree, holistic guest profile that captures patron data from across channels and systems to support Chautauqua’s growth and improve patron experience.

About Your Work Schedule & Location

This position is at Chautauqua Institution’s main campus in Southwestern New York (Chautauqua County) (https://www.choosechq.com/live-chq/) . The schedule is full time and may include daytime and evening hours, weekdays, and weekends, especially in the busy summer operating season and during project go-live periods. The position will be based on the main campus in Chautauqua, New York, but may require some travel. Qualified candidates may work remotely or on a hybrid schedule.

Total Rewards for Our Talent

Compensation for this position starts at $60,500.00 and with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $66,500.00.

About the Referral Program

Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program (https://www.chq.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Referral-Bonus-Program-3-8-22.pdf) is a talent solution to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce that encompasses all the skills and experience necessary to deliver on our goals and objectives. Chautauqua Institution will provide a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees referring a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90-days from the first physical date of work. In the case of seasonal positions working less than 6-months, the new candidate must remain actively employed for at least 30-days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season. The closing date of the season is the last Sunday in August.
