WHAT DO INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES DO?
Acts as an instructional leader in the development, implementation, and coordination of literacy instruction across the curriculum by guiding, directing, and modeling for staff
Collaborates with teachers in the design of instructional units and lessons
Engages teachers in learning new instructional skills
Researches, analyzes, and disseminates current research and resources on instructional practices that link with the school improvement goals
Uses data and analysis of students' learning to assist classroom teaches in making decisions to improve instructional practices and interventions
Develops a plan to evaluate the instructional support program

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Valid Professional Educator License
Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, school improvement process, technology use, and student assessment systems.
Ability to pass a fingerprint background check
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Preferred teaching endorsement in English and/or Language Arts
Preferred Master's Degree in reading and/or curriculum instruction
