Ridgeview Medical Center Security Officer in Chaska, Minnesota

Purpose of Job This position is responsible for performing the duties of patrolling and securing facility, buildings, and grounds. Job Functions Performs essential security functions to protect the assets of Ridgeview from loss, damage, and/or unauthorized access Escorts staff/visitors to and from parking areas as requested Fulfill key responsibilities during organization's management of emergency plans Assists staff in patient care areas and communication center as needed Performs additional duties as necessary for emergency preparedness, technology, workplace violence, asset/equipment tracking, and field training Demonstrates the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and independently lead Demonstrate effective skills in planning and organizing daily activities Can execute tasks related to security projects Ability to work autonomously and as a team Performs other duties as assigned When acting as Instructor or Instructor Assistant: Oversee MOAB, ASP, & Taser training for the security team Facilitate MOAB training and scheduling for the organization Maintain continuing education for instructor certification Maintain security officer training and duty equipment Collaborate with instructors to write course descriptions Develop lesson plans, course guides, and other training documentation Aid faculty in the design and implementation of educational courses When acting as Lead: Support schedule Review Incident reports Lead in absence of Supervisor Report Injury on duty Field training or precept Minimum Education/Work Experience High School graduate or equivalent Must be at least 18 years old to meet Ridgeview's insurability requirements Preferred Qualifications Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.) Hazardous Materials Awareness/ Operations -HAZMAT operations (H.M.O.) International Association of Healthcare Safety Security (I.A.H.S.S.)-Certificate Advanced level Incident Command System I.C.S. 100,200 Dynamic Encounters and Ground Control Tactics Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence to complete job functions as mentioned above Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in the English language and respond accordingly to complete job functions as mentioned above Demonstrate the ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner, ability for accountable for quality customer service.
