Actalent Production Engineer in Chaska, Minnesota

Job Title: Production EngineerJob Description

Hard Skills

  • Identify and implement continuous improvements for cost savings

  • Evaluate assumptions in new project development for accuracy

  • Understand cost savings requirements and identify savings opportunities

  • Recommend changes to production processes for cost savings

  • Work with Lean Champion and Production Manager to identify efficiency opportunities

  • Recommend crew size and run speed changes to finance

  • Maintain and improve training tools and processes

  • Provide input during quoting and development processes

  • Manage training and education of production crews for new product launches

  • Ensure thorough post-launch activities and validate production runs

  • Provide solutions to challenges in new product production

  • Communicate project status to internal teams and customers

  • Ensure clear, accurate, and timely reporting

  • Implement and maintain lean standards and processes

  • Apply lean tools to permanently implement improvements

  • Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department

Soft Skills

  • Proactive communication with all affected parties

  • Customer satisfaction focus

  • Follow-through to ensure report understanding and utilization

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Chaska, Minnesota.

Work Environment

This position requires significant work hours beyond the normal workday as required by business cycles and customer volume. It demands managing tight deadlines with moderate interruptions. The physical demands include moderate bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping. Standing and walking up to 4 hours per day. Continuous talking, teaching, and hand/wrist movement for 6 or more hours per day. Sensory requirements include good eyesight, normal hearing, and clear English communication. Work conditions involve both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned indoor environments, moving and lifting objects up to 50 lbs occasionally, and occasional travel by car and airplane. The work schedule is flexible, usually 8-10 hours between 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, with potential additional hours based on business demands.
