Position Summary: We are currently seeking a highly motivated, talented Electrical Engineer to be located at our Chaska, Minnesota or Chelmsford, Massachusetts facility. The candidate will drive engineering projects to enable new product development and to release improvements to existing systems across a broad range of Tokyo Electron products. The ideal candidate with have excellent analytical skills combined with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will work with the products to understand and define problems/challenges. Writing and executing to clear specifications, this engineer will collaborate with all other engineering disciplines (mechanical, software, process, manufacturing), production and materials teams to execute projects. Using CAD skills, the engineer will develop and maintain system, assembly and harness schematics and collaborate with design support teams to fully execute projects. Projects will include complex systems, controls, and mechanisms. Responsibilities: Designs a complete and complex framework, system, or product. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Develop IO maps, interlock strategies, and identify component requirements for software developers. Organizes and participates in design reviews of machine improvements and new designs, including FMEA and Risk Analysis. Provides Subsystem design, documentation, and packaging of sub-assemblies. Works with customers to formalize, design, and implement customer special designs. Quotes engineering labor and material for marketing feasibility. Works with High Vacuum components and clean room procedures. Works with High Voltage components and applications. Works with Gas Handling systems and exhaust system requirements. Works with Pneumatic and cooling system components and controls. Familiar with National Electric Code (NEC), ISO procedures, and Lockout/Tagout requirements. Familiar with safety/regulatory compliance standards such as, NFPA 79, Korean KC, SEMI S2, S8, and CE certification. Complete required safety training. Adhere to TMEA's ISO compliance procedures related to engineering project management Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university with 2+ years of experience in equipment design. Post-graduate degrees may be considered in lieu of experience. Preferred Requirements: Experience working with high voltage system design Experience with capital equipment design in the semiconductor industry preferred Experience with interface/control of motors, actuators, and sensors Strong analytical abilities, capable of understanding complex systems with multiple variables AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred Knowledge of communications protocols such as Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherCAT, DeviceNet, CanOpen Ability to travel to both domestic and international destinations Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a dynamic team environment Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 PLC programming including structured text a plus C#/.NET/XP/Windows 7/Windows 10 software development experienc a plus Automation/Robotics experience a plus Experience with sustainable equipment design engineering a plus Physical Requirements: Job duties are often performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional overnight travel to TEL factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required.
