Charter Oak-Ute Community Sch Middle School English Language Arts Teacher in Charter Oak, Iowa

Charter Oak-Ute Community School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Language Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of language arts curriculum and instruction tailored to middle school students. They will possess excellent communication skills, creativity, and the ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans that align with middle school language arts curriculum standards.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including English language learners and students with special needs.
  • Incorporate a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and projects that integrate language arts with other subject areas.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and provide support as needed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in language arts education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Language Arts for middle school grades.
  • Proven experience teaching middle school language arts, with a strong understanding of adolescent development.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends, research-based instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive learning environment.
