We are seeking anHR Assistantwith outstanding administrative and communication skills. An HR Assistant is expected to be a conceptual thinker with superb organizational and time management skills. You must be reliable and should accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask and acclimatize to a fast-paced environment. The HR Assistant will perform a wide range of administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of our human resources department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
  • Provides clerical and administrative support to Director of Human Resources.
  • Compile and maintain digital and electronic records and documentation of employees.
  • Assists with all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Conducts initial orientation to newly hired employees.
  • Completes termination paperwork and exit interviews.
  • Process required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters.
  • Performs routine tasks to assist with employee appreciation incentives, compensation, benefits, and leave; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters Director of Human Resources.
  • Assists with payroll functions.
  • Assists as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated, energetic and a team player.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred.
  • Prior related office experience preferred, with at least ne year in human resources highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
