Principal Financial Group Solution Analyst II (Updated Location) in Charlotte, North Carolina

What You'll Do

As a Solution Analyst joining our Workplace Benefits IT division, you'll have the opportunity to focus on vendor solutions and bridge the gap between our administration staff and IT partners!

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:

  • Advance knowledge on the technology tool(s) as needed.

  • Troubleshoot tool(s) and issues, along with performing system configurations, upgrades, and testing validation work

  • Learn about reliability and security of the tool(s).

  • Understand and practice strong data management in the tool(s): data privacy, integrity & protection, recovery, maintenance and security.

  • Partnering with team on quality of configuration change being released - ideally would be done with automation where possible.

  • Fulfill requests using the specific technology skill and tool(s) trained on.

  • Work with other team members to increase your understanding of the work.

  • Partner to complete prioritized features/stories.

Who You Are

  • Associates or Bachelors degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) or 1+ years of technical experience required

  • Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred

  • Technical curiosity or understanding of technology

  • Excellent planning/organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required

  • May be required to provide on-call support

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Knowledge of Compass preferred

  • Ability to obtain certification(s) in an IT-related field

  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus

  • Knowledge of UNIX and or scripting a plus

  • Desire to learn new technologies

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$63750 - $121000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
