Principal Plan Reporting Analyst I in Charlotte, North Carolina
Principal is hiring for a Plan Reporting Analyst I to join the Government Plan Reporting team! The selected candidate will provide critical support to our retirement plan customers by preparing required government filings and compliance tests. This role is an important component of our successful management of our customer's retirement plans ensuring that these plans meet the identified government standards.
Some responsibilities include:
Complete the most complex government filings or compliance tests and related services within prescribed IRS/DOL/PBGC deadlines and client requested timing. Prepare accurately and efficiently with minimal assistance.
Provide support and answers to questions for internal service partners, external clients and auditors.
Support peers by assisting with both technical and process related questions. Provide a mentoring relationship as requested.
Participate in or lead department initiatives/projects including but not limited to process and system improvements.
Responsible for ensuring that appropriate documentation is maintained and accessible, per current regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Compile and prepare management statistics to monitor timely completion of work per IRS, DOL, and external customer requirements.
Perform other job-related duties or special projects as needed.
Success in this position requires operating with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and working independently to complete critical plan reporting and compliance testing activities.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years of related professional experience
Additional qualifications include:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels along with strong problem solving, decision making, organizational and time management skills
Must be a self-starter who can work independently and within a team environment
Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and OneNote and Teams
Preferred knowledge of government reporting forms, or compliance testing, and general regulations related to the retirement plan business
The ability to support Additional Time during testing season and then as needed throughout the year
Location
This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid and remote work arrangements. Candidates that live within 50 miles of Des Moines IA or Charlotte NC will be required to work from the office 2 days per week.

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
$51000 - $98400 / year
