Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our organization's network infrastructure. The Network Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network architecture, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date with emerging technologies.
Responsibilities:
Design, plan, and implement local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network infrastructure components to meet business requirements and performance objectives.
Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators, to ensure optimal functionality, security, and reliability.
Monitor network performance and traffic patterns, identifying and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control lists (ACLs), to protect against unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.
Design and implement network segmentation and VLANs to enhance security and optimize network traffic flow.
Evaluate and recommend network hardware, software, and services to support business objectives and accommodate growth.
Collaborate with other members of the IT team to develop and implement network policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff, assisting with network-related issues and troubleshooting escalated problems.
Document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure continuity of operations.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends in networking, participating in professional development activities and training as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level network infrastructure.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
Hands-on experience with network hardware and software platforms from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, and Fortinet.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, or Nagios.
Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, with experience implementing security controls and conducting security assessments.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex network issues and develop effective solutions.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders, vendors, and team members.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are desirable but not required.
