This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule operating out of branch office 3 days a week, with 2 days working remotely. Candidate must be located within reasonable commuting distance to 4501 South Tryon Street in Charlotte, NC.
Job Summary：
Trane in Charlotte, NC is hiring for Application Engineer (Equipment). In this role, you will be responsible for the equipment portion of various projects including validating the equipment selection, pricing, discounts, and submittal processes of the equipment portion of projects as required, and accountable for the strategy and performance achievement of the specific budget objectives.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the optimization/validation of the equipment to include selection of size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. of the HVAC equipment by reviewing the plans, specifications, original estimate and proposal.
Responsible for evaluating possible cost savings and/or cost problems that will occur on various projects.
Validates project scope by reviewing transition documents, plans and specs; listing possible cost savingsand problems; planning EQ/ VPP dollar breaks; and validating quantities and configurations.
Supports sales and develops preliminary submittals and/or final submittals as required, as well as hold job cost consensus meeting and submittal release and makes any necessary changes.
Maintains competitive advantage and stays abreast of industry trends, as well as optimizes expenses by negotiating prices with vendors for materials.
Responsible for preparing the correct equipment for order entry, verifying equipment pricing and revising coordination worksheet, as well as reconcile job costs.
Validates outside equipment and service purchase prices.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering preferred
Technology experience, or other related areas; or two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the HVAC industry
Experience performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Windows/ Microsoft Office product knowledge.
Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Carless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Base Pay Range: $82,550-109,950
Total compensation for this role will include a bonus/incentive plan.
