Please review the following job description:

Provide application, systems, or process design recommendations based on short- and long- term Technology organization strategy. Develop enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features. Use a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications. Provide expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Determine specifications, then plan, design, and develop the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes-either individually or in concert with project team. Provide architectural strategy and direction for multiple diverse application functions on a variety of multi-platform systems in order to support the achievement of corporate business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop application strategy in support of short- and long-term business plans as well as application implications and software development requirements.

  2. Participate in the development of company business system architecture plans and review cost and feasibility of system requests while ensuring the plan supports the strategic needs of the company.

  3. May develop programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse.

  4. Apply in-depth knowledge of programming languages and designing, coding, testing etc.

  5. Understand and consistently apply the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies.

  6. Research and maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. Viewed as a technical expert and critical technical resource.

  7. Typically lead complex projects and participate in larger initiatives. Solve complex technical and operational problems.

  8. Act as a resource for teammates with less experience. May oversee workflow and provide coaching and training for a small team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in development or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  2. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.

  3. Understanding of multiple disciplines/processes related to the position.

  4. Experience applying and utilizing enterprise architecture standards.

  5. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.

  6. Ability to plan and manage projects.

  7. Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.

  8. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

  9. Advanced communications skills, including ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.

  10. In an Agile environment: Knowledge of Agile development and release practices. Experience supporting a team with application architecture in an Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Knowledge of one or more of technologies such as: JEE, JAVA Beans, JavaScript, Web Services, SOAP Mobile, WebSphere technologies, Microsoft Technologies such as NET (e.g., VB .Net, C#, or C++, ASP.Net), or COBOL/Mainframe legacy EIS Job Inventory 15 modernization tools and integration techniques including COBOL, WSED, CICS, Assembler, and JCL, XML. Database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and proficiency in PL/SQL.

  2. Solid working knowledge of UML and design tools.

  3. Banking or financial services experience.

  4. In an Agile environment: Knowledge of Agile development & release practices. Experience supporting a team with solutions architecture in an agile environment.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

Visual / Audio / Speaking

Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.

Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding

Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.

Availability

Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
