As an Active Part Assembler, you will be responsible for performing the assembly of the active part of the transformer and the necessary connections. This position is designed for someone who brings a blend of technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality compliance. As you progress in your job role, you would be able to support us in growing the department by assisting in the training and development of new hires in the organization.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Performing the assembly of the active part of the transformers including coils, angle rings, cylinders, etc. and making the necessary connections

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work plans

  • Carrying out the assembly of the frames for fixing cables and busbars according to the drawings

  • Operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and performing welding when necessary

  • Performing final inspections and quality checks for in accordance with technical requirements and standards

  • Supporting in developing and maintaining the documentation of technical instructions for the active part assembly procedures

  • Training and mentoring of new hires into department.

  • Planning and reviewing the tasks to be carried out according to pre-established production plan and manufacturing standards.

  • Responsible to fulfill and/or to support to fulfill all protocols, policies, guidelines, and competences coming from all current system [EHS, QA, CyberSec, etc.].

What You Bring

  • High school degree or equivalent with relevant technical training/experience.

  • Preferably at least 2 years of experience in the winding block assembly process for transformers.

  • Ability to use math, read and interpret complex drawings, and perform complex measurements.

  • Applicant must be able to obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community college.

  • Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain Forklift License and a Critical Lift level crane license and certification for working in heights.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate leadership qualities to eventually become a trainer/mentor for new hires in the future.

Other Key Requirements:

  • Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.

  • Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

  • Must be willing to relocate temporarily to Mexico or Brazil for on-the-job training for a period of 3 months or more based on the proficiency in the area of training. Appropriate relocation support and compensation will be provided.
