Job Summary:
Responsible for executing collections and accounts receivable policies and procedures, as well as manage the activities of the staff. This individual will monitor outstanding/past due collections amounts.
Essential Responsibilities:
Review of customer deductions and claims. Claim types include but not limited to, shortages, compliance fines, yearly rebates, trade fund agreements, and matching deals to vendor agreements and pricing variances.
Reviews collection reports to determine status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collections policies and procedures.
Researches and investigates billing issues for corrective action.
Prepares management reports and maintains credit files to meet requirements
Extends credit to customers in accordance with the established company policy and terms.
Handles credit beyond subordinates’ authority, major accounts requiring individual attention, marginal accounts, problem accounts, special credit arrangements, and deviations from standard.
Coordinates with credit staff and external vendors to share information and update controls.
Works with quality control to provide explanations for denial of rejected material to customers.
Maintains credit records to monitor credit lines.
Audits customers’ accounts to ensure proper application of funds.
Maintains database of customers’ information, updating limits and records
Handles non-routine credit inquires and correspondence.
Follows closely the course of aging accounts and determines action to be taken on delinquent accounts.
Qualifications:
5+ years of AR experience with a global organization
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Proficient with Oracle and Microsoft Office applications
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
