Position Overview Antilles School is seeking a dynamic and talented assistant teacher to join a committed team of educators in a collaborative environment that places a high value on the whole child. Ideal candidates are passionate and self-motivated professionals, prepared to teach and nurture young children and support a wide range of learning styles and abilities. An understanding of, and a commitment to, a culturally and ethnically diverse population is essential. Responsibilities include following the directions and lead of the classroom teacher and assisting them in all areas of the classroom. This includes student interaction, set up and preparation of materials, and instruction of curriculum, as well as assisting the teacher in helping to meet the needs of the different learning styles of each child. The assistant teacher is expected to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the schools curriculum and the developmental stages of their students. Collaboration with peers and a positive work ethic are expected. Assistant teachers have assigned duties and also need to be willing to help out as needed. Educational Qualifications - Bachelors degree preferred - Previous successful classroom experience, required Skills, Abilities and Competencies Demonstrated command of child development and current best practices in early childhood Collaborative professional nature Understanding of pedagogy and fostering physical and intellectual growth Ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with multiple constituencies Excellent communication skills Cultural competence []{style="font-f "}
