Fathom 4 LLC Team Lead, Software Integration Engineer in Charleston, South Carolina

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads a team of Fathom 4 employees and subcontractors assigned to execute technical and operational C5ISR capabilities. They are the primary point of contact between Fathom 4 and our government clients.
  • Ensures the project remains on schedule and that milestones are met.
  • Provides guidance and acts as a technical resource to teammates.
  • Assists in the training of new personnel.
  • Analyzes, develops, tests, and modifies software interfaces and solutions to meet user requirements.
  • Coordinates with users to identify system requirements, and systems design challenges.
  • Defines system objectives and prepares system design specifications to meet user requirements and solve interface problems.
  • Reviews work products for correctness, adherence to design concepts, and user standards, and ensures progress according to schedules.
  • Prepares status reports and presentations on task performance to clients.
  • Supports the maintenance of disciplined software release control and configuration management.
  • Coordinates with DoD Cyber methodology and standards and works within a Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Works primarily on-site with some remote work (approximately 20%) possible.
  • Location: Charleston, SC, with 0-5% expected travel.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or in a relevant IT major. In lieu of a degree, an abundance of real work experience with a Sec+ certification will be considered.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Current DoD SECRET minimum security clearance preferred, or the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance. A SECRET level security clearance is required as military base and facility access must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Must pass a background check at hire.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software integration, design, and development with Windows or Linux (preferably both) to include experience leading a technical team and project.
  • Scripting experience in at least two languages: PowerShell, NSIS, VBScript, JavaScript, Batch, and/or Bash.
  • Proficient with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals, design patterns, data structures, encryption algorithms, and well-known ports and protocols.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with virtual environment setup and support using VMware ESXi.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Services and Cloud Architecture.
  • Engineering experience with Microsoft Windows 10 OS or Microsoft Windows Server OS.
  • Experience in RHEL OS engineering environments.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with DoD PKI, SSL, or OAuth 2.0 security protocols.
  • Experience with the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) for custom Windows image deployment.
  • Virtual machine engineering experience using Hyper-V or VMware Workstation.
  • Containerization experience using Kubernetes, Docker, or equivalent software.
  • Automation experience using Ansible.
  • Prior PAI OSINT or military experience is a plus!

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with government clients and all levels of end users and technical resources.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills for software build plans and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose solutions.
  • Capability to automate installation and configuration of operating systems and software.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements and compliance, including DISA STIG and RMF controls.
  • Ability to provide SME (Subject Matter Expert) and fleet support, troubleshoot issues, and validate solutions.
