Position Summary:

Charles River is seeking a Project Manager who will serve as a strong contributor within the Microbial Solutions business unit to drive teams from idea to launch. The Project Manager will provide leadership and support for the planning, execution, and implementation of projects. This includes scope definition and management, requirements gathering, team and stakeholder communication, issue and risk management, and budget and resource management, while adhering to the business unit’s Stage-Gate and other processes. This individual will work cross-functionally with Scientific, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, Marketing, Procurement, Production, and Controls and Automation. Scope of work could include new manufacturing processes or equipment, facilities enhancements, continuous improvement initiatives, and business continuity projects. This role reports directly to the Head of Project Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Site Leader and cross-functional leadership to define and prioritize projects that are aligned with business objectives and strategy.

  • Lead cross-functional teams and facilitates on-time delivery of project tasks, milestones, and budget by thorough planning and execution of the Project Plan. Coordinate with internal and external resources and cross-functional managers to insure proper staffing, project alignment, and delivery.

  • Establish risk-adjusted, cross-functional project plans and budgets from feasibility through implementation stage-gate phases, with an understanding of Design Control or product development process principles.

  • Own the project communication plan for the setting and clearly communicating the project priorities, expectations, deliverables, and risk mitigation plans. Continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Drive the vision and goals for the overall team, keeping members engaged by creating a positive environment through coaching, encouragement, and recognition while striving for accountability within self and others.

  • Perform all other related project or department duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Scientific field preferred; experience in lieu of formal education may be considered.

  • Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience Project Management or project leadership role

  • Certification/Licensure: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar certification is preferred.

  • Other:

  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to deliver results.

  • Knowledge of project management processes and tools such as PMI model, scheduling software and configuration management tools.

  • Experience and understanding in Design Controls or product development process according to Quality System Regulations (QSR) 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485:2016.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Proficient with MS Office Programs, including MS Word, Excel, and Project, or similar project management software.

  • Strong conflict resolution skill set and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong verbal, written and organizational skills.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and location.
