DCL Corporation Lab Quality Control Lead in Charleston, South Carolina

DCL Corporation is seeking a Lab Quality Control Lead responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the quality assurance laboratory during their assigned shift. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of chemical testing methodologies, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous quality standards. The Lead will ensure the smooth functioning of the laboratory while upholding safety, compliance, and efficiency.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Lead and provide guidance to laboratory technicians and analysts during the designated shift.

· Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and facilitate training and development of team members.

· Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.

· Ensure all quality assurance processes and procedures are followed meticulously.

· Conduct routine checks on testing equipment and instruments to maintain accuracy and precision.

· Oversee the execution of chemical tests, assays, and analyses as required.

· Investigate and address any deviations or quality issues promptly.

· Plan and coordinate daily laboratory activities, including sample analysis and testing schedules.

· Monitor the progress of ongoing tests and ensure that they are completed within established timelines.

· Collaborate with other shift leads to facilitate a smooth transition between shifts.

Documentation and Reporting:

· Maintain accurate and organized records of testing activities, test results, and quality metrics.

· Generate shift-specific reports summarizing test outcomes and any notable incidents.

· Communicate findings to the PIL Leader or Quality Assurance Manager.

· Ensure that all safety protocols and guidelines are followed rigorously during the shift.

· Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and company policies.

· Participate in safety audits and incident investigations when necessary.

· Assist in the training and onboarding of new laboratory personnel.

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend changes to enhance efficiency and quality.

· Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM, Chemistry, or related concentration or a minimum of five years of relevant experience will be considered.

  • Preferred Minimum 3 years in a laboratory or manufacturing environment

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and proficiency with remaining MS Office suite

  • Proficiency with ERP systems

WORKING CONDITIONS

Mixed Office and Laboratory environment. Standing for extended periods of time. Sitting for extended periods of time.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other computer components.

Exposure to Manufacturing environment when in the production areas
