Summary:

Our Infection Prevention team’s mission is to promote a safe and healthy environment through the prevention of healthcare-associated infections in patients and the transmission of infectious diseases among patients, staff, and visitors, and to contribute to infection prevention research to guide evidence-based practices. We approach all infection prevention activities using a multidisciplinary approach through our integrated team that has expertise in hospital epidemiology, infection prevention, quality improvement, informatics, advanced epidemiologic and statistical methods, advanced microbiologic methods, and compliance monitoring and coaching.

Job Summary:

In collaboration with the senior quality leader, provides quality and organizational excellence by leading multidisciplinary quality and process improvement initiatives that directly impact infection prevention. Communicates with stakeholders and stays connected with staff in order to mobilize support and keep infection prevention quality initiatives moving forward.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides quality and organizational excellence by leading quality and process improvement initiatives. Leads multidisciplinary improvement projects.

  2. Customer Service-Facilitates workgroups and teams focused on infection prevention initiatives by establishing ground rules, allowing members to share perspectives across disciplines, and working to build group concensus on solution approaches.

  3. Measurement & Analysis- Identifies and drives analytic needs for improvement projects and initiatives. Supports leaders in development of problem charter and selection of best approach to solve a particular problem. Mastery of basic quality improvement tools and techniques. Teaches and mentors others on quality improvement tools and processes.

  4. Problem Solving & Implementation-Makes decisions based on analyses and data. Challenges project team and their current processes when improvement is needed. Develops interventions and initiatives based on data. Able to resolve conflicts and promote improvement across multiple departments. Strives to implement solutions that span multiple depts/divisions. Identifies methods for solving problems which eliminate steps, speeds processes, and reduces complexity.

  5. Project Management-Influences and gains commitment from all members of project team. Able to identify resources necessary to meet project needs (budget, personnel, and leadership). Able to obtain and maintain executive support for project through communication and leadership. Acts as a consultant or mentor to other groups interested in implementing similar solutions.

  6. Tools, Methodologies & Technologies-Leads and mentors colleagues regarding tools, methodologies and technologies. Provides cross-functional, cross-business, cross area work.

Education Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

● No licensure or certification required.

Professional Experience Requirements:

● If a Bachelor's degree: Three (3) years of experience in quality team facilitation, project management, process improvement or quality data analysis role. Clinical Experience associated with leading quality improvement efforts may be assessed as equivalent to direct quality improvement experience both in determining minimum requirements, as well as level of experience.

● If a Master's degree: One (1) year of experience in quality team facilitation, project management, process improvement or quality data analysis role. Clinical Experience associated with leading quality improvement efforts may be assessed as equivalent to direct quality improvement experience both in determining minimum requirements, as well as level of experience.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

: Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in patient care or similar setting strongly preferred.
