At GDIT, people are our differentiator. A Systems Administrator maintains an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software.

  • Provide technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.

  • Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software

  • Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.

  • May serve as a team or task lead.

  • Leadership role, ensuring all tickets are assigned and updated.

  • Provides end-user software troubleshooting and support.

  • Provides troubleshooting and support.

  • Participates in the administration of e-mail systems.

  • Coordinates development of deliverables and products.

  • Must be able to track project studies, plans, action items, etc.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as required.​

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Technical Training, Certification, Degree, or the equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, or work experience.

● Required Experience:

  • 1+ years of related experience

  • Understanding of desktop computers, thin clients, servers, VoIP phones, video conferencing, cabling standards, installation, systems administration, testing equipment, and ITIL best practices

  • Must possess appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment: CompTIA Security+ CE is the minimum certification

  • As part of your function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access. Privileged Users are subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities placed upon them. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring, and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures. Privileged Users are subject to a zero-tolerance policy for security violations.

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
