ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company Graphic Designer Senior in Chantilly, Virginia

Provides hands-on design expertise, shaping the concept and seeing it through to detailed design and implementation across a variety of devices and platforms utilizing human-centered design practices and methods. Responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of a range of projects, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.

• May oversee the team in addition to execution of specific marketing/advertising hands on tasks in their area of specialty

• Additionally, experience in senior leadership and large scale, multi-channel marketing campaigns

  • Ensures the production of high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

  • Drives the development of product documentation, coordinating the effort of subject matter experts and other technical writers.

  • Provides guidance on policy requirements to ensure that all documentation products comply with these requirements. Ensures adherence to CMMI Level 3/AIMM platform requirements.

  • Ensures continual improvement of documentation, system, and processes for preparing documents (conciseness, consistency, cost-effectiveness, clarity).

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining the various documentation libraries and resources for documentation teams.

  • Understands business objectives and prioritizes work for the team accordingly.

  • Negotiates scope and requirements for technical publications by participating with cross-functional leads in the development of schedules to address product roadmap requirements, including task estimation, resulting in execution plans clearly defining measurable phases or milestones.

  • Determines resource allocation and deploys according to schedule, detecting project execution risks, surfacing issues, and proposing solutions in the event of resource changes or emergent issues.

  • Contributes to technical documentation, including testing and documenting new features and editing knowledge manuals, procedures, and specifications.

  • Keeps abreast of industry practices and new technologies to improve content quality and department productivity.

  • Overall responsibility for leading the program, department, or functional area as designated. Oversees, directs, and mentors subordinate staff; communicates job expectations and enforces organizational policies, procedures and core values; responsible for recruiting staff, approving timecards, and conducting performance reviews and disciplinary measures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Industry leading certification for expertise preferred

  • 8+ years of experience working with technical documentation with experience in creating end-user documentation and 0-2 years of management experience.

  • Position requires a current TS/SCI with FSP.

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

  • Experience with desktop publication tools from Adobe and Microsoft.

  • Ability to understand and articulate technical requirements and translate these requirements into technical documentation.

  • Experience with proven results in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Advanced technical writing and presentation skills.

  • Ability to review technical documents for grammar, content, and style of writing.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate progress against schedule.

  • Capability to handle sensitive and complex issues with discretion and good judgment.
