Interpret diagnostic results and determine the appropriate repair procedures. Repair or replace faulty components, systems, and parts, ensuring proper functioning. * Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, and fluid checks. Perform scheduled inspections and follow manufacturer guidelines to prevent potential breakdowns and ensure optimal vehicle performance. * Possess in-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical, and HVAC systems. Stay updated with the latest industry advancements and technologies through continuous learning and training. * Utilize specialized tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices to facilitate accurate diagnosis and efficient repairs. Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and in safe working condition. * Maintain detailed and accurate records of all diagnostic tests, repairs, parts used, and services performed. Prepare written reports and documentation for customers and management, outlining the work completed and any further recommendations. * Adhere to established quality control processes and standards to ensure repairs meet or exceed customer expectations. Perform thorough post-repair inspections to validate the quality and safety of completed work. * Comply with all safety regulations, guidelines, and procedures while working on vehicles. Adhere to environmental and hazardous waste disposal regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area. * Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing clear explanations of vehicle issues, repairs needed, and associated costs. Address customer inquiries and concerns effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction. * Collaborate with other technicians, service advisors, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to promote a positive and collaborative work environment. * Stay abreast of new automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry trends through continuous training and professional development opportunities. Pursue relevant certifications to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications * Automotive Service Technician experience required * ASE Certification * GM Certified * Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent * Excellent customer service skills * Basic Computer skills * Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality * Enjoy working in a fast paced environment * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Team player * Must have a valid driver’s license * Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment About the Dealership The Pohanka Family of Dealerships is firmly entrenched in the Washington DC Metro.
