Electrical Technician

We are looking for a Electrical Technician to join our Exlar team!

As our Electrical Technician you will assist engineering with a wide variety of tasks related to new product development, simultaneously assisting in production sustaining efforts, and providing automated test support.

Your Challenge

  • Populating and reworking SMT and through-hole components on circuit boards

  • Working with production and engineering to evaluate circuit board designs

  • Initializing and performing electrical tests; documenting results

  • Assisting with designing, documenting, and maintaining automated test equipment

  • Creating various documents such as wire harnesses, test procedures, and flow/block diagrams

What You Bring

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Associate’s Degree in electronic theory (with 5+ years’ experience)

  • Programming experience with LabVIEW

  • Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring schematics.

  • Troubleshoot electrical sub-assemblies, harnesses, boards, etc.

  • Soldering and reworking PCAs with through-hole and surface mount components

  • Validation testing: circuit level through system level

  • Designing and building automated test fixtures: board level and system level

  • Knowledge of various test equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMMs, data loggers, etc.)

  • Experience with crimpers, wire strippers, mechanical hand tools, meters, and gauges

  • Identify opportunities for improvements during the build process for new and existing assemblies
