Wells Fargo Senior Cyber Security Research Consultant in CHANDLER, Arizona

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Research Consultant to join its Offensive Security Research Attack Automation Team.

This role will be focused on building a library of capabilities that can be used by internal adversarial security staff to more efficiently perform day to day operations or recreate attacks from previous assessments quickly and easily. This role will be directly engaged with the development of tools and containers that will allow a self-service capability for security consultants to perform activities in an on-demand manner. This role will both seek out automation opportunities as well as take in requests from partner teams for tools that would enhance organizational capabilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in the research, analysis, design, testing and implementation of complex computer network security and protection technologies for company information and network systems and applications

  • Manage physical hardware and cloud based infrastructure used in offensive security operations

  • Review and analyze advanced computer security incident response activities and technical investigations of information security related incidents or breach related activities

  • Perform tests on networking devices, appliance products and web based application

  • Implement and develop custom penetration testing techniques and tools

  • Perform security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate information security policies and adherence to best practices

  • Provide guidance and leadership to more experienced Information Security Engineers and act as a mentor for these engineers interested in penetration testing and offensive security

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Create custom scripting and automation

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Cyber Security Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Shell, VBScript, or JavaScript

  • 2+ years of automation experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer (or other infrastructure as code technologies)

  • 2+ years of virtualization technologies experience with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or VMWare

  • Experience creating and managing documentation and working with ticketing systems

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment

  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management

  • Experience in malware reverse engineering

  • Industry certification such as Sans GREM

  • Experience with cloud automation tools

Job Expectations:

  • This role offers a hybrid work schedule (onsite work will be expected)

  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship

  • 5% travel
