Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Principal \ Senior Principal Electrical Mixed Signal Design Engineer to support the Glide Phase Interceptor Program within the Launch Vehicles business unit in Chandler, Arizona .
Based on specific objectives, perform design, analysis, or test of complex circuits without detailed direction from more senior engineers.
Select component parts for the design to meet stringent environment requirements including radiation.
Study design concepts and criteria to ascertain the engineering principles involved and with general direction, plan, prepare, and complete the design.
Simulate design to verify as-designed circuit response meets requirement criteria. Evaluate completed design with more senior engineers and other technical groups and make modifications necessary to achieve a design that satisfies requirements.
Write design and test documentation including analyses, specifications, user manuals, test procedures, etc.
Develop, coordinate, and conduct the test programs and equipment required to evaluate the design and bring to production status.
Work with customers to derive component design requirements from block diagrams and system level specifications. May also oversee, with senior engineer oversight, component supplier design, analysis, manufacture, and test.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Engineer Electrical:
If offered at the Level 3 Principal Engineer Electrical
Requires 5 Years with Bachelors in Engineering; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
5 years mixed signal circuit design experience, proficiency with Pspice/LTspice simulation, Cadence Schematic Capture. Hardware troubleshooting / software debugging. Physical testing experience including lab measurement (oscilloscope, signa/function generator, logic analyzer, etc). Generating design documents, specifications, user's manuals, test plans.
Ability to obtain a DoD Active Secret Clearance is required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Engineer Electrical:
If offered at the Level 4 Principal Engineer Electrical
Requires 7 Years with Bachelors in Engineering; 5 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
7 years mixed signal circuit design experience, proficiency with Pspice/LTspice simulation, Cadence Schematic Capture. Hardware troubleshooting / software debugging. Physical testing experience including lab measurement (oscilloscope, signa/function generator, logic analyzer, etc). Generating design documents, specifications, user's manuals, test plans.
Ability to obtain a DoD Active Secret Clearance is required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
Familiarity with Cadence Allegro PWB, CAM350, MATLAB, VHDL, Python is preferred.
Experience in motor control circuit design is preferred.
Salary Range: $95,300 - $142,900
Salary Range 2: $118,600 - $178,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
