PRODUCTION FABRICATION / PLASTIC WELDER

FUNCTION:

Under the direction of Department Lead, this Fabrication / Plastic Welder position is a hands-on role aligned with all the production departments [Machining, Fabrication, Cleanroom, Coiling] to learn and develop the skills necessary to support the production process of purity plastic formation and project completion. Trainee will learn and apply usage and techniques of various coiling, machine shop, fabrication hand tools and technology advanced systems. The Trainee will learn and apply the fundamentals of measurements, blueprint reading, drawings, machine programming, quality and safety as determined by department. The development and skills learned will provide the trainee with the opportunity to grow their talent to a niche skill allowing for rotation, growth and development within FUSIONHPX.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Apply manual craft work from materials provided using a variety of shop tools and technical systems to complete with precision, accuracy, and defined measurements of clients designed products.
  2. Apply ensuring all material worked on meet or exceed the quality and standards of FUSIONHPX purity craftsmanship requirements with attention to detail in all work performed.
  3. Apply a continuous improvement mind-set to ensure job orders, transfer-job traveler documents are clearly defined to accurately perform work.
  4. Will interacting and collaborate with teammates [from supporting departments (engineering, supply chain, etc.)] the process of raising issues and concerns arising from design, material, tools, and technical systems.
  5. Apply a questioning and performance attitude in ensuring highest quality of work has been performed before handing off completed work to next step in the process, i.e. deburring to fabrication; Coiling to heat transfer.
  6. Will always maintain a clean working area to always ensure safety protocols and keeps tools sharpen and in calibrated status. Report immediately defective & unsafe tools, equipment and machinery; Sharpen or replace dull blades.
  7. Maintains a flexible learning attitude and willingness to support and assist others in a professional and courteous manner.
  8. Performs other duties as required.

KEY STRENGTHS:

Excellent communication skills, collaborative, flexible and willingness to learn and apply full capability in pursuing highest quality output. CORE SKILL SETS Knowledgeable with measurements, blueprint reading, quality, tools and safety. Strong knowledge of PLASTIC WELDING.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • GED or HS Diploma
  • Trade school completion in precision technology or manufacturing coursework highly preferred
  • 5 plus years experiencein PLASTIC WELDING work experience required.
  • Working knowledge of measurements, blueprint reading, quality, tools and math skills a plus.
